It feels kind of predictable to start off a blog post relating to a milestone with "Well, what a year it's been...", however, that being said, in terms of West Coast Beach Volleyball Club, never a truer word has been spoken and therefore it seems only fitting.
So, with that in mind...
Well, what a year it has been!
We never had the inagural summer we had hoped for in 2020 after big 'rona reared her ugly head but we have been grafting non stop behind the scenes to get everything in place to let us dive into 2021 full pelt.
Between opening up membership to people of all ages & skill levels, having sunset sessions, beginner taster weekends, securing funding for 2 part time junior coaches and organising to host our first ever tournament in July 2021 (to name but a few) we totally feel like we've smashed it. (Not to blow our own trumpets or anything...!)
We are delighted to announce that, to add the cherry on top of our already fantastic year, South Ayrshire Council have funded and organised for us to have our very own semi pernament posts on Troon Beach! WCVBC are here to stay!! (***semi permanently at least...!)
In addition to the posts, Scottish Volleyball have donated nets for us to use on our new semi pernament posts!
It will take a bit of DIY and further logistical planning to have everything fully ready to go so please just keep a wee eye on the website for updates over the next few weeks.
It is an incredibly exciting time for us at WCBVC and we want to say a massive heartfelt thank you to everyone who has helped and supported us over the last year.
We hope you are all as excited as we are!
